I LIVE TO SEE
Susan Moye uses her @CMYKChicago Instagram feed to create a perfect, unique portrait of the Windy City. Whether her images are of people experiencing the city or of Chicago’s unique architecture, they combine to tell the story of one of America’s largest cities. We’re also lucky enough to count her among our many PicTapGo beta-testers who helped us develop the app.
“I live to see. As a graphic designer, I am constantly looking around me for inspiration. Somewhere along the way, I decided to start capturing what I saw on camera and my second passion was born. I also live in the greatest and most inspirational city in the world: Chicago.”
What does mobile photography mean to you?
Mobile photography is a new medium of storytelling. Everything and everyone has a story. Because we live in a fast-paced world, those stories often go unnoticed. I have always loved shooting the stories the I see, but I don’t always love carrying around my dslr. Mobile photography allows me easily capture and edit, and most importantly, share, those stories to a large audience. If just one person ends up seeing a man by a lake, or a bare tree, or a staircase in a different way, then I’ve accomplished what I set out to do.
What is your favorite PicTapGo feature?
I LOVE PicTapGo - so it’s pretty hard to pick a favorite thing. But if I have to narrow it down, I would say it’s the control that the app gives the user. The ability to change the strength of a filter and to go back and change an applied filter or a crop in the middle of a recipe makes the app so fluid. I’ve been a Totally Rad user for a few years now and was amazed at how you guys were able to take bits and pieces from the TR products and make it into a mobile app that’s just as great. And I have to add that my favorite filter is Skinny Jeans, and I love to pair it with Vanilla Kiss.
